There is one thing God says to me repeatedly that always makes me feel strong, confident, and comforted. He says to me that if it offends me then it also offends him. This helps me know that he has always been on my side when I face diverse conflicts with others. Even when contending with other Christians. It is possible to be a Christian in lable and belief but not in actions or attitudes. These who say they are right in their hearts while they excuse what is wrong are not truly on the side of God. I am in no way perfect. Those closest to me know my flaws and how I fail but I’m honest about it. First before God. It is a pure, contrite heart that God won’t despise. He does not honor perfection, but rather he makes us perfect but he will favor truth as he is spirit of light and the truth. What does the bible say? It says when we say we are without sin we do not walk in the truth and are calling God a liar –
1 John 1:8
King James Version
8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
The word tells us that it is in the confession of sin.. that we are cleansed from all unrighteousness.. and that it is God who does that…
But the self-righteous get it backwards. You see they strive to be without sin, or deny they are in sin to themselves or others.. the first way leads to self-righteousness, the second way is deception. But the third way is God’s way, and that is to admit you have sin and in this way you are contrite before God, you are humble and don’t strive against others believing you are better and therefor are able to be truly effective, and also you understand that it is not because of what you have done that you are righteous but it is because of God’s great mercy and forgiveness that you stand, firstly justified, secondly purified, and lastly glorified..because of what God has done by way if his son, not by our works that any man can brag. Amen
