A New Day

We are in the new year, and it is a new day. I see this year as being a push to the new me. The old stuff I sang about yesterday will soon be no more and be part of a forgotten past. We really cannot forget our past, but we can let it go and let it fall where it will. Today is the day that I will stop procrastinating, this is going to be part of my old past. New progress, no more hindrances. The reason why I procrastinate and maybe why many of us do is because of hindrances. When we know that God is for us, not against us, and that he wants us to really focus on things above, then we are able to throw aside those hindrances that easily beset us from our course and keep us feeling ashamed, discouraged, and distracted. No more, today is a day that I listen to and embrace wisdom. It is also a day that I lay my worries and cares at his feet even if this means that I will engage in lengthy spirit filled pray until it is done, understanding that God didn’t mean for us to be able to do it all on our own. Someone recently told me that if I didn’t have a God sized problem, then I wouldn’t run to him. Often times our God sized problems are there so that we will let him do his part in our life and make our crooked path straight as we go to him with our needs. Father today is the day that I lay my cares down at your feet. Every single one of them. Thank you for seeing my needs, thank you for caring about our needs, and for your promise that as we make our supplications to you, a good father will not give their son a stone. And even if we did get a stone, it would be because later you will give us another stone and teach us how to make our fire that we may always survive and not rely on lighter fluid. There is always a good purpose for what you give us, even if it is to remind us that we need to walk in wisdom. Father, this is the day that you have made and I will rejoice in it. You see and care about all our needs and you will meet those needs and may every person in my life see your hand in my life that you will be magnified and that all will fear you and praise you. Thank you for you are the lover of my soul and you are “anxious” to show me just how wonderful of a lover you are since I have invited you to be my lover, you have shown to me how faithful you are to be that perfect lover to me. My soul feels your warmth, love, and protectiveness right now. You have made my way secure and I will forever praise your name as I dwell under the shadow of your beautiful, mighty, magnificent, loving, fatherly wings. You are so faithful, you have said “taste and see that the Lord is good”, you have also said that “because he loves me, because he acknowledges me I will deliver him”, oh father I have chosen the right lover, and you have drawn me close to you please don’t ever allow me to lose… Those who call upon you, you will make their joy complete. This is his invitation, you God have extended this invitation to some people and if they take you up on it, then you will fulfill your promise to always watch over and protect them as well. I praise you perfect, perfect, perfect father.. I love you so much because I have found the best thing. Also, this is the day I am done with gluttony. By his grace I am putting that on your alter father. You will always keep and protect me. Greater is he that is in me than he that is in the world. I will dwell under the shadow of your wings until the day you take me to be with you and there will be singing and dancing forever and ever you have made my joy complete you have written my name in the lamb’s book of life, and in you and you alone there are streams of living water and joy, and life abundantly. Amen.

Through life's challenges I have learned that Jesus really is the only one who can truly satisfy. Through his grace I have already achieved so much, and wish to include you all in my journey as I continue to press on towards the mark to which I was called. I hope that you can identify and share in my successes and even my failures. It is also my hope that you will see what a day in the life of a spirit filled believer looks like up close and personal. May you be blessed as I am blessed, and may you share in my anointed grace. God bless you as you read.
